Summary

The RUSE project, is a collaborative effort to document Resource USE in the Kalivelli wetlands. The project is led by the French Institute of Pondicherry with FERAL and the Universal Eco Foundation as collaborators. The FERAL component of the project seeks to compare resource use as documented during a similar exercise in 2004 and specifically tries to look at changes in resource dependence and use of communities as a consequence of the protection measures that are in place for the sanctuary.

Objectives

The objective of the FERAL component is to characterize the general resource uses in the Kaliveli wetland. The field survey will use focus group and participatory mapping approaches to assess resource uses and trends according time and space.
