Doctoral Research Fellow

Anisha Jayadevan is a PhD candidate at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, USA. She is studying the drivers and outcomes of tree plantation projects in the semi-arid open natural ecosystems of Maharashtra. She is largely interested in how people, policies, and narratives shape land-use and land-cover change. Together with the collective Cafe Oikos and with support from Bengaluru Sustainability Forum and the Nagarathna Memorial Grant, she co-authored The Living Museum, an illustrated book on urban biodiversity. Anisha loves writing, birding and communicating science.
